Notes:
This site plan was submitted with the proposal as a preliminary plan.. The Parks advisory Board liked it and passed it forward to the BOCC as there suggestion for project design.
Key features of the plan are traffic control, parking, stormwater control and beach restoration. It is assumed that restrooms will eventually be constructed on the between the south parking area and the entry.
Stormwater from the entire drainage basin upstream from this site now collects on Moore Street and floods across the site, cutting through the fill cap that covered the beach for nearly a century. The natural drainage toward the creek was blocked. This drainage will be restored.
One of the historical pictures you will see at the end shows the estuary nearly a century ago, when the estuary reached back inside a spit at the north end of this site. It is assumed that restoration will include reconstruction of the estuary and natural spit.
