Notes:
Park project at this site was named repeatedly in variety of documents and adopted plans. Many of the details of acquisition funding are still “up in the air” as this opportunity was not expected for many years. Decision by Port Townsend Paper company to sell land to WDF and to vacate log processing facility created unexpected opportunity to acquire mouth of creek and adjoining beach. In response to this opportunity, BOCC resolved to acquire this property as Local Park to compliment habit purchases upstream and to north. Meetings with Cotton family and Realtors established willingness to sell for this purpose. WDF appraisal now underway for Port Townsend Paper Company’s adjacent properties should establish current value of comparable properties .
